South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU) and Campus Consortium have partnered to provide the Kryptos Mobile Development and Publishing Platform to the SCICU-member colleges and universities to create their official mobile apps at no cost. The grant covers up to $50,000 per college in mobile app licensing, development, and maintenance costs.
Eddie Shannon, Executive Vice President at SCICU, states “In 2015, the majority of online inquiries and transactions came from mobile telephones. Potential students, students, faculty, and staff increasingly depend on their mobile devices for internet access. The grant from Campus Consortium provides our member colleges with a wonderful opportunity to serve their students, faculty, and staff better. We are very happy to be partnering with Campus Consortium and appreciate their providing this free service to our member colleges.” Six SCICU institutions have already applied for the grant and are in various stages of implementation and several other member colleges are reviewing the application requirements.
